Niantic, Inc. and The Pokémon Company International have announced the Pokémon GO Summer Tour 2018, a series of immersive real-world Pokémon GO events and activities that will take place around the world. Pokémon GO Summer Tour 2018 will feature Pokémon GO Safari Zone Dortmund in Germany on June 30 and July 1, Pokémon GO Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park in Chicago on July 14 and 15 and a Safari Zone to be held in Yokosuka, Japan later in the summer. Each event will include unique ways for players around the world to create adventures of their own and complete challenges together. In addition, Community Day events will continue throughout the summer, offering bonuses and challenges for players around the world not attending the events.

“The Pokémon Go Summer Tour 2018 is set to bring Trainers together around the world for fun, exploration and adventure" said John Hanke, founder and CEO of Niantic, Inc. "After getting off to a bumpy start in Chicago last year, we hosted a number of record-setting events in Japan, Korea, and cities across Europe with attendance that ranged from tens of thousands to more than two million. We are excited to be returning to Chicago for our US event. It will take place in Lincoln Park and will feature in-game activities in the park and throughout the city as well as connected gameplay events around the world."

Pokémon GO Safari Zone Dortmund in Germany will take place in Westfalenpark, one of the largest inner-city parks in Europe on June 30 and July 1. Pokémon GO Safari Zone Dortmund will be free and open for all those who wish to attend to enjoy. Additional in-game activities will take place throughout Dortmund’s entire city district, giving players from all over Europe a chance to explore the rich cultural history through Pokémon GO. The tree-lined, 1.8-mile walking course through the park will include physical installations and exclusive activities for Trainers of all ages, while the surrounding region of Chicago will see additional in-game activities and appearances of rare Pokémon. Tickets for the event will go on sale on May 11 at 9:00 A.M PDT for $20. For more information on Pokémon GO Fest 2018, please visit the event website.
