Niantic

We are thrilled to share that Ingress, Pokémon GO, and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite have received a prestigious honor from the Sport Agency, a subsidiary of Japan’s Ministry of Education! The award, “Sport in Life,” is the first-of-its-kind, and acknowledges Niantic games as a catalyst for healthier lives by making walking an exciting part of people’s daily routine.

The “Sports in Life” award comes just after the third anniversary of Pokémon GO, and the worldwide launch of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, and celebrates a thriving, loyal community of players around the world. It reflects the great strides we've made as a company to build our technology into a powerful force for good, as well as the great strides of our Agents, Trainers, and Wizards: together they have walked 23B+ kilometers, and continue to make Niantic games essential to their well-being.

We are proud to be honored by organizations like the Sports Agency that share our mission and commitment to benefiting humanity and encouraging healthier lifestyles.

A big thank you to the tens of millions of loyal players who have been continuously playing and attending Niantic events around the globe!
