Today, we’re thrilled to unveil our brand new action role-playing game, inviting you to step into the shoes of a real-world monster hunter. Embark on epic monster hunts as you explore your city and neighborhood, enhance your arsenal by crafting and upgrading your weapons and armor, and join forces with fellow hunters to take on the most powerful monsters.
We worked closely with CAPCOM to create a meticulously crafted experience that maintains the incredible legacy of the Monster Hunter series, so longtime fans can truly enjoy it, while also creating an experience for people new to the Monster Hunter universe.
Monster Hunter Now represents the work of our Niantic Tokyo Studio, which started in 2018 to develop games and experiences, such as Pikmin Bloom, together with our many partner companies based in Japan. We also serve a vast community of passionate players going back to Ingress, Niantic’s very first commercial game, and we’re excited to bring them something new with Monster Hunter Now.

Monster Hunter Now is powered by Lightship, our global-scale augmented reality platform, which makes many of the features in the game possible – features such as Group Hunt, which allows players to hunt and defeat monsters together, AR Camera Mode, which allows photo capture of monsters encounters in the real-world, and many more.
