Supporting LA Communities

The wildfires in the Los Angeles area have been incredibly destructive, impacting hundreds of thousands of people, including many Niantic game players. From February 21-23, we will host an in-person Pokémon GO event at Rose Bowl Stadium and Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena. We believe it’s important to use this opportunity to give back to those impacted, and we want to share our plans to support the local community during this challenging time:

Niantic and The Pokémon Company group will donate a collective $1M to nonprofit organizations supporting relief efforts for those impacted by the LA wildfires. Niantic will contribute $500,000 to:

We look forward to finding more ways to support the community as needs arise, and we’ll see many of you in Pasadena.

In addition to these relief efforts, we’re supporting initiatives that document and preserve the community’s recovery. Journalist Nonny de la Peña and her team are using Niantic’s Scaniverse to create immersive 3D scans of fire-affected areas, capturing both the devastation and the rebuilding process.
