  • Someone being murdered, sexually assaulted, tortured, starved etc.
• Depictions of animal abuse

We do not allow content or behavior that seeks to bully or harass others. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Stalking or intimidation
• Trolling
• Sustained unwanted messages or comments
• Dogpiling
• Shaming or degrading
• Sexual harassment
• Swatting

We do not allow content that reveals personal or private information. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Personal identity documents
• Private contact or home address
• Financial information
• Medical history
• Personal login information
• Media of private individuals
• Threatening to expose personal information/doxxing or offering a bounty in exchange for private information

Niantic games and products are not a place for content that displays, rationalizes or encourages suicide,self-harm, or eating disorders. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Sharing or seeking self-harm or suicide instructions, strategies, and methods
• Encouraging someone to physically harm or kill themselves
• Seeking partners for group suicides, suicide pacts, or suicide games
• Posting graphic or otherwise triggering imagery of self harm injuries, suicide, or eating disorders
• Sharing plans to harm oneself or referencing desires to die
• If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide of self harm, help is available.

We do not allow content or accounts created by, affiliated with, or in support of violent actors.

This includes, but is not limited to:

We do not allow nudity or content created for the purpose of sexual gratification. This applies to real and animated content. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Pornography
• Nudity
• Graphic sexual descriptions
• Fetish content

We do not allow the sharing of content or glorification of violent acts that targets people or groups based off of their race, ethnicity, gender or gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, age, caste, religion, disability, national origin or other identity factors. Groups that promote hateful content are also forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Slurs or harmful stereotypes
• Violent event denial
• Dehumanization
• Violent threats or wishes of harm
• Glorification of violence
• Inciting behavior
• Hateful imagery
• Denial of an individual’s gender identity (includes misgendering)
• Support for hate groups or hateful ideologies

We do not allow content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers children. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Grooming
• Predatory behavior towards a child in order to harm them
• Sharing or requesting child sexual abuse material
• Engaging in sexual conversations with a child

We know that sometimes, people share nude images of their own children with good intentions; however, we generally remove these images because of the potential for abuse by others and to help avoid the possibility of other people re-using or misappropriating these images.

We do not allow the sale of or requests to purchase to produce dangerous goods and services. This includes, but not limited to:

• Tobacco
• Alcohol
• Firearms and accessories, including ammunition (also includes instructions to create)
• Lethal weapon, like bombs and grenades (also includes instructions to create)
• Marijuana and associated products, like ash trays

We do not allow cheating or any efforts to circumvent gameplay. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Using modified or unofficial software.
• Using multiple or shared accounts to circumvent gameplay.
• Using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location (“spoofing”).
• Intentionally exploiting a bug to gain reward.
• Manipulating matchmaking, outcomes, rankings, or any other element of competitive gameplay systems.
• Abusing the refund policy.
• Buying/selling/trading accounts, in-game currency, or items on third-party platforms or any other activity that is in violation of Niantic’s Terms of Service, available here: https://nianticlabs.com/terms/

We do not allow content that is designed to mislead or create inauthentic engagement. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Post or engage with content at high frequencies
• Encourage engagement in a misleading way or under false pretenses
• Low quality or irrelevant content

We don’t allow accounts that impersonate or misrepresent their affiliation with any person or organization. Accounts that pose as another person, group, or organization in a confusing or deceptive manner may receive a 10 year suspension.

The safety of our players and users is of utmost importance. If we are made aware that a player has committed a severe safety offense off-platform, we may terminate their account. These offenses include, but are not limited to:

• Conviction for sexual offenses
• Membership in a terrorist or violent extremist organization
• Mass or serial violence
• Membership in organized crime or hate groups
• Any behavior that threatens the safety of others
